Luxottica connections!

Hello everyone!

My name is Ashreet Nath. I joined Lux 5 years ago when I started working for Sunglass Hut in Auckland. I still remember the first Lux employee I met, Mr Hirdesh Nair (our current Optometry Learning Consultant) at an OPSM store when I had just finished high school and was looking for a summer job. Years later when I met him we found out that we both attended the same primary school in Fiji!

I also remember the second Lux employee that I met – as I am married to her now! We both went to the same Optometry school in Auckland and were offered Optometry jobs in Adelaide.

In Adelaide I started off at Laubman & Pank Elizabeth. After six months I worked between L&P Elizabeth and OPSM Tea Tree Plaza. In my second year out I applied for a Managing Optom role at OPSM Adelaide Central. I learnt tons about the business side of things thanks to the RSM, REM and Store Manager. As the business changed its eyecare strategy our store became one of the eyecare hubs. Our store was also lucky enough to get a refit and we have all enjoyed the fresh new look and carpets! We were also lucky enough to be the first store in Australia to have the Optos Daytona unit installed (I will share more experiences with you all later ).

I currently enjoy working as an Eyecare Hub Manager and Area Eyecare Manager. I feel that I can serve two different types of customers – our store customers, and other Optometrists and Store Managers who I try to support with day to day clinical and eyecare technology matters. This mix of flavours makes for an exciting week for me. And before I know it, the weekend is here!
