Thanks to a Special Couple <3

It’s been an emotional week at Sunglass Hut Bondi Junction and I wanted to say a quick thank you to my customer Amy & her husband for recently being the best in-store experience by far! <3
What customers spend 40 minutes with you to do the weekly quiz in the weekend newspaper together? I should get these guys into the business for some motivational approaches!

It’s extra satisfying when you can connect with a customer in an unexpected way. Sure, it’s amazing when your customer leaves with a smile, but when your beaming as much as they are – wow, I was filled with warm fuzzy feelings! I’m also extra stoked on the cute pair of Ralph’s she purchased aswell!

I also learnt that some guy smuggled 29 geckos on his body from NZ too – EWWWWWW!

Customer Relationships

Building a relationship with our customers is something that is valued highly at Sunglass Hut. Recently the wonderful Lorelei and I were helping a lady pick out a pair of aviators. We had fun trying out different styles, narrowed the choices down and she left the store to think her options over. The following week she came back into store with her sister, we remembered her and picked up where we left off the previous week and our relationship grew from there. She and her sister left the store that day with a pair of sunglasses each!

They paid us another visit the following weekend, and once again left the store happy customers with another two pairs of sunglasses! They were so happy with the service that they shortly returned with a big box of chocolates to say thank you! We still get visits from them and have had various members of their family come in to shop with us too.

There is nothing quite like the power of good customer service and a pleasant shopping experience. I have found it really makes a huge difference if you are able to remember a customer and their preferred styles or just take the time to chat to them about, well, anything really! Since I’ve been working in retail I’ve not experienced being on first name terms with customers before! It’s nice to make that special effort to help the customer feel valued!

Tom Ford Love Affair

I have been talking about how I am looking forward to seeing my sunglass collection grow now that I am working for Sunglass Hut. Well I have finally put my money where my mouth is and invested in a beautiful pair of sunnies from one of my favourite designers, Tom Ford.

It’s a little bit ridiculous just how much I love his sunglasses, his attention to detail is incredible; the unusual curved designs, beautiful colours, the intricate and discreet placement of the Tom Ford logo, even the cases are divine! His sunglasses really are something special, definitely worthy of an investment and the most important thing is that I feel great when I wear them! Only problem is, I am well and truly hooked! I’ve already got my next two pairs lined up, so it looks like my bank account might be taking a bit of a battering this season! Well worth it though as I am now the proud owner of a little piece of designer heaven!

Here is a photo of my new babies in all their tortoise shell glory! I am trying to save them for more ‘special’ occasions as I still have my trusty Ray Bans for everyday wear – but more about those in another post!
